1990's Grunge.

It is the style that is the bane of every mother's life. But it is a style that has been nurtured by music and experimentation. Grunge.
With the release of Converse S/S 2012, their limited 2012 editions & Topshop campaigns, it feels right to mention Grunge. Taking a leaf from 70's and 80's punk, Grunge has definitely emerged as one of the leading fashion phases. Wear the obligatory flannel checked shirt, t-shirt under it, ripped jeans teamed with Dr Martens or Converse and there you have it.
Kurt Cobain is seen to be the ultimate Grunge icon whereas icons today for me also include Kate Moss and Effy Stonem (played by Kaya Scodelario) in the hit UK series of Skins (series 1-4). Being a teenage cult, Grunge will always be around, especially when designers use it such as McQueen, Marc Jacobs and of course Vivienne Westwood who still mixes Punk and Grunge.
