Agyness Deyn for Dr Martens.

I am sure that my followers now know how much I LOVE Dr Martens and I have written a few posts about them. Well a few days ago it was announced that Agyness Deyn is to collaborate and do some designs for the brand. I am truly excited! As she already is a true fan she will know exactly what Dr Martens would want. I have finally worn my 1460s in so hopefully in a few months I will get another pair!

Here are some campaign pictures.

First Love: Dr Martens.

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Dr Martens have been around for decades and they are now coming very much back into mainstream fashion with Agyness Deyn as the face. I have ordered a pair and am waiting!

Once broken in, they are supposed to be one of the world's most comfortable brands since they were originally used as 'workmens boots'. Collaborations by a German and an Englishman created this boot and made the name more pronounceable.

The website is absolute heaven and  last year they also started producing clothing such as the checked shirt and other 'working' clothes that have helped make Dr Martens what they are today.

Dr Martens 1460 Boot £105.00 (Originals range from £95.00 up)

Dr Martens Ofira Shoe £110.00

Dr Martens Blythe Boot £42.00 (original price £70.00)

1990's Grunge.

It is the style that is the bane of every mother's life. But it is a style that has been nurtured by music and experimentation. Grunge.
With the release of Converse S/S 2012, their limited 2012 editions & Topshop campaigns, it feels right to mention Grunge. Taking a leaf from 70's and 80's punk, Grunge has definitely emerged as one of the leading fashion phases. Wear the obligatory flannel checked shirt, t-shirt under it, ripped jeans teamed with Dr Martens or Converse and there you have it.
Kurt Cobain is seen to be the ultimate Grunge icon whereas icons today for me also include Kate Moss and Effy Stonem (played by Kaya Scodelario) in the hit UK series of Skins (series 1-4). Being a teenage cult, Grunge will always be around, especially when designers use it such as McQueen, Marc Jacobs and of course Vivienne Westwood who still mixes Punk and Grunge.
