Daslu

While the rest of us are preparing for a cold winter and are breaking out gloves and scarves, Brazil is still very much in the heat.
I have just discovered Daslu.
It is known for being exclusive and has been described as a mecca for the fashion industry.
It is a boutique store with accessories, shoes and clothing and also houses couture.
It is in Sao Paulo....and I want to go!

Now it is opening a flagship store and a clothing line inspired by Africa.

I am already a big fan of Brasilian designers like Osklen and Melissa.
I hope to find lots more especially as now its SPFW.

Out of Africa: Liya Kebede.

Hailing from Addis Ababa Ethiopia, Liya Kebede is one of the most influential models around. Having started out modelling in Paris, Liya has done wonders for brands like YSL, Victoria's Secret and for varieties of Vogue.

And along with her own ethnic clothing line she has a charity, an ambassador for Goodwill & has most recently done a childrens' film in French.

Something about her is just so beautiful.

T. I. A.

This Is Africa.

A country known for its vibrant colours, landmarks and of course poverty.
However, after Alexa Chung wrote in Vogue on the subject of Ethical Issues, I noticed that there are amazing brands that have everything fair trade and from Africa at affordable prices.

Here are some of my favourite designs.

Ali Hewson for Edun

And some non African items but still inspired by the country.

Isabel Marant SS 2012.

Sarong of a coral reef & payment is donated to charity.
D&G Sandals
Roger Vivier beaded bags
British DJ SBTRKT.

Most pieces are of African material and part of every payment is in donation to the designs chosen African Charity.
Truly Inspiring.

I Heart Isabel Lucas.

Genuinely have an obsession with this girl. Her laid-back surfer & girly style and her massive passion for nature has captured the attention of millions. A native of Australia who is moving back after being in L.A, Isabel Lucas is a girl after my own heart. Ever since her feature in Tatler a few months ago.....I am even more in love! Aussies know how to do it!
